I bought this nightstand along with the River Ridge dresser with mirror (see separate review of that). Both units are excellent, I mean really good. Solid wood construction is important to us, no particle board or MDF with rustic hardwood veneer! This unit fits that bill and it looks great!As an added bonus the unit is (only just) small and light enough to come via UPS or FedEx. The dresser came via freight, so showed up a week later although they were ordered at the same time. The unit is just large and heavy enough that it's quite awkward being carried by one person, so you might want to have someone else on hand on delivery/assembly day.Not much assembly required, just the metal feet need attaching (note, it's funny they're called "casters" in the description, implies they actually turn -- they are purely decorative and solidly bolted to the bottom of the unit). If you don't like the look of the metal feet I think they could easily be left off.The reason that I rated this as 4 stars rather than 5 is because there is something electrical about the unit. There is a box on the bottom labeled "touch controller" that is attached via a wire to a thin metal strip across the top/back edge of the unit. I assume it's supposed to be a touch switch? The "touch controller" has multiple outlets coming out of it but they're all active all the time, so I'm not sure what the touch switch stuff is about. The instructions including in the unit are in Venglish which is fine for simple tasks such as assembly but there's no mention of the touch switch even in the Venglish instructions so it's a bit of a mystery. I do like the built-in electrical outlets however.Overall, I think this is great unit. It looks absolutely great in our house.
