I am totally sick of seeing furniture that is particle board or MDF with some kind of rustic veneer. Particle board and MDF have no place in our home and I was delighted to come across this River Ridge dresser by Magnussen. It is constructed of solid, real wood, and WELL constructed at that.As you would expect the unit came in two pieces -- the mirror and the dresser (I see you can also buy just the dresser). It probably would have gone marginally faster with two people but I managed to safely assemble the unit by myself, although to get it into position ready for assembly required another person to lift (since it's solid wood it's quite heavy, not unmanageable, my lifting assistant was my wife).As expected, although the mirror is actually securely attached to the back of the unit with two wooden supports it does have some sway since it's so tall. So I'm glad I got everything into position first and it just needed sliding back a bit to get it into its final position. I wouldn't want to be moving it around too much after assembly. If it had to be moved from where it was I would probably take the mirror off first! (4 bolts).It looks REALLY GOOD. It is quite rustic, so fits our house well.I also bought the nightstand which also looks great in real life. The nightstand came UPS but this dresser came via freight delivery, so be aware and don't wait until the last minute to buy expecting 2-day air delivery from Amazon like SOME of us ;)The larger part of the unit is quite manageable by two burly men although you should have a nice tip ready if they have to haul it far up some stairs!
